Born on the Street

A Manhattan street corner was an exciting place to be on Monday afternoon, when a woman waiting for a cab gave birth to her baby girl. When a young woman passerby gave up her coat so that mother and baby could stay warm, the parents named their daughter after the Good Samaritan. The news coverage of the winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia have included lots of stories of the plight of the city's stray dogs.
